I’m obsessed. My brother-in-law introduced me to Alabama Shakes, a band out of Athens, Alabama. Brittany Howard, the lead singer/guitarist met bassist Zac Cockrell in their high school psychology class (!). That’s such a cool thought, to think of two teenagers rehearsing together after school and, over the years, developing this amazing new sound. Howard’s voice just sounds like heartbreak, doesn’t it? I love it.
